Yoga Wall Trainings

Letitia offers two trainings every year at her home studio, and will travel to your studio any time of the year! At Purna Yoga 828, she usually offers Level One in the Spring or Summer and Level Two in the Fall. Level One focuses on fundamentals and the basics of using the Great Yoga Wall while Level Two applies those concepts to more intermediate and advanced poses. Join us in-studio or online for either training.

She also teaches several shorter (3-6 hour) immersions throughout the year on particular topics, like Spinal Health, Scoliosis, and Neck and Shoulder therapeutics. Starting January 2024, she is hosting online, therapeutically-oriented immersions taught by master teacher, Aadil Palkhivala.

The Level One training (12 Hours) is an introduction to Wall basics and fundamentals so teachers and home practitioners alike can discover how to use this fun, multi-faceted, powerful prop to help students and themselves go deeper into their yoga practice. Learn a new way to make asana accessible to a wider variety of students with this unique tool.

The Level Two training (13 Hours) applies the initial principles of Wall-use introduced in Level One to more intermediate and advanced poses (like Headstand, Shoulderstand, and Handstand) as well as focusing more attention on therapeutic applications of the Wall, specifically Low Back health and other spinal issues, though other topics like shoulder strengthening, adrenal fatigue, and thyroid support will be touched on. Completion of Level 1 is a prerequisite for this training.

Approximately 50% of the work of this training requires a partner, either to help manage the wall belts during the pose or to provide another mode of support or tension to either push into or pull away from. In-studio students work together as partners and at-home participants benefit from having a fellow practitioner to work with.

Great Wall Immersions are one-day sessions, taught by Letitia or by visiting Wall experts, varying in length from two to three hours to two three-hour sessions with a mid-day break. Immersions are experientially-oriented explorations of  a particular topic. We hold poses for longer in order to embrace their benefits and often incorporate partner work to manage the belts or provide another point of traction.

If you are seeking an in-depth experience that focuses on a specific use of the Wall, our Immersions are likely the best fit. Immersions can be suitable for all levels or geared towards intermediate or advanced practitioners, depending on the topic.
